We write to inform you of some changes that will soon be implemented at the Kart Club and Mansell Raceway Ltd.
As a result of the substantial investment in the circuit by the Mansell Raceway proprietors the impressive new building and associated facilities are due to be completed at the end of this year. This coupled with the news from the current Club Chairman, Jim Bee, that he will be stepping down from his role, now makes this the right time to change the operational structure of the Kart Club. This is essential to sustain the future growth and development of the Club to ensure it remains one of the best Kart Track venues in the country.
At the end of the current season the Kart Club will be run as a proprietary Club and will come under the full control of Mansell Raceway Ltd. This will not affect the members in any way and in essence will present greater opportunities to grow the Club and improve the membership experience for all. The name of Dunkeswell Kart Racing Club will be changed to Mansell Kart Racing Club at the end of this year's championship to reflect the new organisational structure.
The Committee will be replaced by a Management Team with the aim of holding regular members meetings on the Saturday evening of race weekends. This way the members will have the opportunity to share their ideas or concerns directly with the management and also enable them to feel more involved in the Club's activities and future.
The plan going forwards is to offer the members the opportunity to carry out certain duties in return for a retainer that can be offset against memberships, pits spaces and practice days. Please let us know if you are interested. On top of that we would like to carry out more working parties at the circuit which again would be offset as a "thank you" similar to the above.
To Comply with MSA regulations, we will still be running as a Club with the following roles:
Club Chair: Mel Osborne
Club Secretary: Njal Lovell
Treasurer: Nicki Dance
Competition Secretary: Mel Osborne
We would like to thank the current committee for their hard work, past and present and also extend special appreciation to Jim Bee for all his hard work over the years for the Club.
Looking to the future, you will no doubt have heard rumours of a possible visit by Super 1 for next year and whilst we can confirm that talks have been held with ourselves and Super 1 no dates have yet been officially agreed. This is an important development for the Club and testament to the reputation we have gained thus far. This will conflict with a Club round at the circuit but we are currently looking at the most viable options. One suggestion is to make the Southwest Championships a Club round or have a double header round on a Saturday and Sunday.
Thank you for your time in reading this letter and more importantly for your continued support as we take the Kart Club to the next level. Exciting times ahead!
The Formula Blue drivers from the 2 Counties Kart Club will be joining us once again for the championship deciding Round of 2018. Champions will be crowned and, in most classes, it is all to play for. This is going to be a great weekend showcasing the highest standard of karting at the best track in the South West. Be part of it.

Please note that the closing date for entries is midnight on the Monday prior to the race meeting. The reason for this is that the club needs to arrange ambulance and marshall cover based on the number of entrants as well as ensuring there are the required amount of trophies. Due to the high number of late entries being received, it is making the race meeting difficult to administer and therefore any entry received AFTER the deadline will incur a £10 administration surcharge - There will no exceptions made for this. Please help us by getting your entry in in a timely manner. Please note that the club has a limited number of Transponders for emergency use. The Blue Book clearly states that it is the competitors responsibility to have a transponder for racing purposes.
